Terry Black’s – Austin

Terry Black’s BBQ has become an institution in Austin along with the renowned Franklin’s BBQ.  If you like brisket, which is what Texans think about when they hear bbq, then Austin is a great place to be.  Terry Black’s will have multiple large smokers going virtually non-stop to manage the amount of food they serve and the length of time that it takes to cook it.  The food is served in a cafeteria style as you move down the line and select what you want to eat, including brisket, chopped beef, ribs and turkey.  Everything is served by the pound and be warned it is really easy to order too much.  Black’s offers great sides, such as potato salad, cole slaw, cream corn and beans.  The dining area is basic with almost a picnic feel to it.  Everything was incredible, but you must certainly taste the brisket.  If you are anywhere near Austin, Terry Black’s is a must.
