Sonny’s is a successful bbq chain with locations throughout Florida and reaching all the way up in to Kentucky.  They offer a full assortment of smoked meats from ribs and pulled pork to chicken and brisket.  Most items are offered either as a meal or a sandwich.  They also offer a broad assortment of sides to go with any dish.  The food is consistent at each of the restaurants we’ve visited and the service has always been great.  The restaurants are fairly large so getting a seat is never a problem.  The meats are cooked using indoor wood smokers to impart some good flavor.  I’ve eaten at several of their locations as it is always a safe bet in terms of food choices.  The pricing is very fair and the portions are terrific.  Overall the meals are consistently good, but not outstanding.  The dishes and sides taste a bit generic which I guess it would be difficult not to when you’re trying to maintain quality at so many different locations.  I would certainly stop by at a Sonny’s again if I was passing through an area where they are located.
